SLOW DOWN
YOU MOVE TOO FAST
YOU GOT TO
MAKE THE MORNING LAST
Simon & Garfunkel:
Live at the Hollywood Bowl
8/23/68
This recording is great.
Paul Simon trades jokes
with the audience,
makes fun of Art
(nicely, they were still friends here)
and explains the way
they made
Bookends.
The music is superb;
there are different harmonies
to be heard,
especially on
"The 59th Street Bridge Song"
and as a duo,
the tunes are
tight and pared.
Compare this recording with
the Miami University set
when S & G
use a full band
and introduce
Bridge Over Troubled Water material,
you can see the power
of voice and guitar.
This is a comfortable recording
with everyone enjoying themselves.
The quality is A+
and all in all,
it would be difficult to
find a better boot.
