David Bowie

played two

 massive concerts 

at the

Milton Keynes 

National Bowl 

on

 August 4th and 5th 1990

  during his

Sound+Vision Tour. 

Concert Details

Dates: August 4 and 5, 1990 
Tour: Sound+Vision Tour (marking the 78th and 79th dates of the tour) 
Attendance: Roughly 60,000 to 65,000 fans per night, totaling close to 120,000 attendees across the weekend. 
Weather: The shows took place during some of the UK's hottest days of the year, with soaring temperatures leading many fans to need treatment for sunburn and dehydration. 
The Band: Bowie was joined by Adrian Belew on guitar and musical direction, Erdal Kızılçay on bass, Rick Fox on keyboards, and Michael Hodges on drums. 

The shows were

 famously billed as a

 "farewell"

 tour. 

Bowie stated at the time

 that these concerts would be

 the last time he ever 

performed his 

classic greatest hits 

from the previous

 three decades 

(a retirement of his back catalog, 

though he later reversed this stance 

on subsequent tours).

 The massive weekend

 was also 

attended by notable 

guest musicians,

 including

 Dave Stewart 

of 

Eurythmics 

and

 Siobhan Fahey.
