the Beatles appeared 

at Empire Stadium.

The Aug. 22, 1964, 

concert was

 the biggest

 single show

 of their 1964

 North American tour, 

drawing 

20,621 hysterical fans.

 After 27 minutes, 

the fans broke

 through security

 and rushed

 the stage, 

and the Fab Four 

scurried into their limos 

to board a plane 

bound for Los Angeles.
