ROSIE KNOWS ME,
SHE NEVER WEARS A FROWN
I'm not sure
of the source
for the CD;
it could be from
some sort of tape
or it could also
be from a
very good
sounding
vinyl version
of the album.
Either way,
it's a decent
sounding CD
as presented here.
Unfortunately,
there are not
bonus tracks;
there is a single
that the same band
(minus their guitar player Al Perkins)
recorded as Felicity
which includes a
Don Henley
penned song as well.
There isn't much
in the way
of information
on the recording
of the album
which is a pity.
In 1969,
they met by chance
fellow Texan
Kenny Rogers
who took an interest
in their band.
They changed their name
to Shiloh
and recorded a
few songs
for Rogers
Future Eagles
orchestrator
Jim Ed Norman
and the President
of a Warner Nashville
as of a
couple of years ago
was also a member
of the band
and provides
a song as well.
One could look
at this as
proto-Eagles;
there's still a
strong
country rock sound
to the album.
After this,
the band split up
and Henley
ended up
becoming friends
with Frey
performing as a member
(briefly)
as
Linda Ronstandt's
backing back
(with the rest of Eagles).
After that,
Frey,
Henley,
Leadon
and
Meisner
formed
The Eagles
and the rest is
multi-platinum history
for the band.
