Gregg Allman : Southern Blood

 Gregory LeNoir Allman

 (December 8, 1947 – May 27, 2017)

was an American musician,

singer and songwriter.

He was known for performing

in the Allman Brothers Band

Allman grew up with an

 interest in

 rhythm and blues music,

and the Allman Brothers Band

 fused it with rock music,

jazz, and country

He wrote several

of the band's

most popular songs,

 including

"Whipping Post",

"Melissa",

and

 "Midnight Rider".

Allman also had a

 successful solo career,

releasing eight studio albums.

He was born

and spent

much of his childhood

in Nashville, Tennessee

before relocating to

Daytona Beach, Florida

and then

Macon, Georgia.

He and his brother

Duane Allman

formed the Allman Brothers Band

 in 1969,

which reached mainstream success

with their 1971 live album

 At Fillmore East,

 but shortly thereafter,

Duane was killed

 in a motorcycle crash.

The band continued,

and released

Brothers and Sisters

which became their

most successful album,

 in 1973.

Allman began a

solo career with

Laid Back

 the same year.

He gained some

additional fame for his

 1975 to 1979

marriage to

 pop star Cher.

He had an unexpected

 late-career hit

with his cover

of the song

 "I'm No Angel"

 in 1987,

and his seventh

solo album,

Low Country Blues

 (2011),

saw the highest

chart positions

 of his career.

Throughout his life,

Allman struggled with

 alcohol and substance use,

which formed the basis

 of his memoir

 My Cross to Bear

 (2012).

His final album,

Southern Blood

was released

posthumously on

September 8, 2017.

John Lennon : Lennon Legend: The Very Best Of John Lennon

John Winston Ono Lennon

(born John Winston Lennon)

 (October, 9th 1940 –  December, 8th 1980)

 was an

English musician

 and activist.

He gained global fame

 as the founder,

co-lead vocalist

and rhythm guitarist

of

The Beatles.

 Lennon's

songwriting partnership

with

Paul McCartney

 remains the most

successful in history.

Born in Liverpool,

 Lennon became involved in

the skiffle craze

as a teenager.

 In 1956,

he formed the Quarrymen,

 which evolved into

the Beatles in 1960.

 He initially was the group's

 de facto leader,

a role he gradually

seemed to cede to

McCartney,

writing and

co-writing songs

with increasing innovation,

 including

 "Strawberry Fields Forever",

which he later cited

 as his finest work

with the band.

Lennon soon expanded

his work into

other media by

participating in

numerous films,

including

How I Won the War

 (1967),

and authoring

 In His Own Write

 (1964)

and

A Spaniard in the Works

(1965),

both collections of

nonsense writings

and line drawings.

Starting with

 "All You Need Is Love",

his songs were adopted as

anthems by the

anti-war movement

and the counterculture

of the 1960s.

In 1969,

he started the

 Plastic Ono Band

with his second wife,

multimedia artist

 Yoko Ono,

held the

 two-week-long

 anti-war demonstration

 bed-in for peace,

and left the Beatles

 to embark on a

solo career.

Lennon and Ono

collaborated on many works,

including a trilogy of

 avant-garde albums

and several more films.

After the Beatles disbanded,

Lennon released his

 solo debut

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band

and the international

 top-10 singles

"Give Peace a Chance",

 "Instant Karma!",

 "Imagine",

and

"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)".

Moving to New York City

 in 1971,

 his criticism of

 the Vietnam War

resulted in a

three-year

deportation attempt

 by the Nixon administration

. Lennon and Ono

 separated from

 1973 to 1975,

during which time he

 produced

Harry Nilsson's album

Pussy Cats

He also had

chart-topping collaborations

with

 Elton John

("Whatever Gets You thru the Night")

and

 David Bowie

("Fame").

Following a

 five-year hiatus,

Lennon returned to music

 in 1980

 with the Ono

 collaboration

 Double Fantasy

He was shot and killed

 by

Mark David Chapman

three weeks after

 the album's release.

Lennon Legend:

The Very Best of John Lennon

 is the

 third

official

compilation album

 of

John Lennon's

solo career,

 coming after 1975's

Shaved Fish

 and 1982's

The John Lennon Collection

Because neither collection

spanned Lennon's

 releases up to

 and

 including 1984's

Milk and Honey

Lennon Legend:

The Very Best of John Lennon –

considered the

 definitive Lennon

retrospective

  was compiled.

 It was released

 in the UK in 1997

 through

 Parlophone

and early

1998

 in the US by

EMI Records.

The Doors : Dance on Fire (Japan Greatest Hits.. and More)

 James Douglas "Jim" Morrison

 (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971)

 was an

American poet,

singer,

songwriter,

and filmmaker

who was the

 lead vocalist

and primary lyricist

of the rock band

The Doors

 Due to his

charismatic persona,

 poetic lyrics,

distinctive voice,

and unpredictable performances,

along with the

 dramatic circumstances

surrounding his life

 and early death,

Morrison is regarded by

music critics

and fans as one

 of the most influential

 frontmen

 in rock history.

Since his death,

his fame has endured

 as one of

popular culture's

top rebellious

and oft-displayed icons

representing the

 generation gap

and

 youth counterculture.

Together with

 keyboardist

Ray Manzarek,

Morrison founded

 the Doors in 1965

 in Venice, California.

The group spent

 two years in obscurity

 until shooting to prominence

with its number-one hit single

 in the United States

 "Light My Fire",

which was taken from

the band's

self-titled debut album.

Morrison recorded a total

of six studio albums

 with the Doors,

 all of which sold well

and many of which

received critical acclaim.

He frequently gave

 spoken word

poetry passages

 while the band was

 playing live.

Manzarek said Morrison

 "embodied hippie counterculture rebellion".

Morrison developed an

alcohol dependency,

which at times

 affected his

 performances on stage.

In 1971,

Morrison died

unexpectedly in

 a Paris apartment

at the age of only 27,

 amid several

 conflicting witness reports.

Since no autopsy was performed,

the cause of Morrison's death

 remains disputed.

Although the Doors recorded

 two more albums

 after Morrison died,

his death greatly affected

 the band's fortunes,

 and they split up

two years later.

In 1993,

Morrison was posthumously

 inducted into the

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

along with the other

Doors members.

 Rolling Stone,

 NME,

 and Classic Rock

 have ranked him among

the greatest

 rock singers

 of all time
